Boston City Hall Winter Elopement with photos at Post Office Square

Boston City Hall Winter Elopement

When you get married in March you get a blog post the next week! 🙂 I’m so in love with Stef and Jim’s super sweet Boston City Hall winter elopement.

This is what Stef had to say about their day, “We went back and forth with wanting to do a big wedding or an intimate ceremony. A month before the big day, we decided to get married at Boston’s City Hall. Getting married at Boston’s City Hall was also sentimental to us. Our story began here. We met in the South End and went to JJ Foleys on our first date. One of our favorite things to do is walk Castle Island.
We wanted to save the money (expecting our first child at the end of spring, saving for a house) and not go through the stresses of planning a big wedding with everything else on our plate. Small weddings and elopements get a bad rep, but we feel like we had THE best day and did it right! We still splurged on the good stuff- spent a long weekend staying at The Langham Hotel, hiring Stephen as our photographer and a big family supper to celebrate the day in Boston’s North End. What made it more special was celebrating the day with our parents. Lots of happy tears!

For all those couples that say “we should just elope to (insert warm and sunny/romantic/special location)” JUST DO IT! You won’t regret it! Just make sure you treat yourself to the things most important to you.”

Stef and Jim got ready together at the Langham Hotel in Boston, which is such a sweet spot for photos.

We went across the street to Post Office Square before walking down to Boston City Hall for their ceremony.

At City Hall, we met up with their parents and headed up to the sixth floor. I loved the anticipation leading up to the ceremony, you could feel the love for sure. After a quick scare at the front desk, where the receptionist said they weren’t on the books for getting married that day, (it all worked out!) we walked down to the city clerk’s office.

The ceremony was short and sweet, they laughed and cried through all of it, and I can honestly say it was one of my favorite ceremonies ever. The office was so small and cramped, there was no choice but to be close and intimate with the happenings of the ceremony and all the hugging afterward!

Post ceremony = super happy couple!

After a few family photos, we walked down to Faneuil Hall and then across to Christopher Columbus Park and the waterfront.

Stef’s dad ran to the store to pick up some comfy shoes for the rest of the day.

How sweet is this?! While we were taking photos, Stef’s mom stopped in the Christmas in Boston store and picked up a custom Christmas ornament with their wedding date.

These next two black and whites might be my favorites, pure joy.

I’m digging the leather jacket, it was pretty chilly!!

We ended up at Limoncello in the North End where they all had dinner as a family.
