Commonwealth Cambridge Wedding

I truly love these off-beat city weddings. Lauren and Ken had their Commonwealth Cambridge wedding in early June and got a gorgeous day. They have been such a joy to work with, ever since they first contacted me. I especially loved their first look. They were both visibly nervous before, but you could tell they just sunk into each other and were so happy the rest of the day.

We started out in this room right next to the second floor roof garden area of the adjacent apartment building. Commonwealth has access to this building for weddings, which is amazing! After Lauren got ready we went down into Commonwealth for their first look. I love all the raw-wood walls. It’s funky while still being upscale. We walked around for 20 minutes down to the canal with all the kayakers busy in the background.

Commonwealth also have access to the very top floor which as you can see how incredible views of the Boston skyline. We did all of the family photos up here as well as a few quick ones of the newlyweds. Well, they weren’t married yet. After that we went back down to the second floor roof for the ceremony. The timing was perfect because the sun had just gone behind the building and the entire space was shaded and cool. They also have this really unique spot for cocktail hour, outside next to this old cut-in-half truck. You really feel like you’re in the city, which I love. Back inside the restaurant they did their first dance, toasts, and danced the night away! Congrats Lauren and Ken!
