Marriott Long Wharf Wedding

Marriott Long Wharf Wedding

I hadn’t been to this Boston venue in a while but I was excited to be back for Mary and Drew’s Marriott Long Wharf wedding! The rooms where they each got ready were really nice. Mary and her girls got ready in one of the suites while Drew and the guys got ready in the Midnight Lounge, off the lobby. Actually, before we go too far, click over to their Boston Public Garden proposal!

Cocktail hour started back inside where they greeted their 200 guests in the Harbor View Ballroom. As the sun set, everyone started migrating out to the Harbor View Terrace to take in the panoramic views of the city and Boston harbor. Finally, we made it down to the lower level and the Grand Ballroom, which had recently been updated and looked amazing. It’s a huge room which allows for a huge dance floor, and they used all of it. What a party! I brought The Zebra Booth along and everyone really enjoyed it.

After they got ready we all headed over to St. Mary’s of Assumption in Brookline for the wedding ceremony. It was a lovely service and afterwards we had a minute to use the church as a backdrop for a few portraits!

After a fun party bus ride back to Long Wharf we walked over to Christopher Columbus Park. It’s right next to the Marriott and a perfect place for wedding photos! We did some portraits of the couple, their wedding party and immediate families. With the help of one of Mary’s sisters we walked down to the end of Long Wharf, which is a national historic landmark. I love this area and there’s some great spots with the Boston Harbor in the background. It was a busy summer Saturday in September so lots of people around but we managed to find some good locations.

The guests all loved this outdoor space for cocktail hour!

She’s my favorite 🙂

Check out Mary’s review that she posted after the wedding!

““Love your photos and your photographer”, this could not be truer with Whiting Photography. First about Stephen – Stephen is the calm, friendly, positive presence you want at your wedding. Everybody loved him. My parents, the bridal party, guests – we received so many comments about how nice and wonderful our photographer was. He listened to what we wanted to have captured for our day and we felt so comfortable with him. He is an all-around great guy.

Second the photos – Above and beyond any expectations. Not only does Stephen have a way of making the bride and groom look fantastic and getting the best shots, he also captures the little moments. We had so much fun reliving our day and seeing our day from our guests’ perspective through Stephen photos. There are so many great photos of our family and friends, in addition to the incredibly artistic and amazing shots of us. Stephen is truly the best of the best. Last – don’t skip over the Zebra photobooth. Let me tell you, it was a HUGE hit with our guests. And so easy because Stephen takes care of it all. It is a blast to look through the photobooth photos. Get the Zebrabooth.”
