I’ll try to keep it together as I try to explain how much I loved this Omni Parker Boston wedding! I met Shyla and Joe a few weeks before their wedding and I knew it would be a fun day. They had no wedding party and I didn’t photograph them getting ready. Plus, the weather was supposed to be perfect.
Sometimes plans change 🙂
We had this perfect plan of going to a few different spots around Boston with just immediate family for photos. Then it started to rain. There was no rain in the forecast just a few hours earlier, but there it was. So, change of plans. Instead of going outside we just stayed inside the Omni Parker. This was the best decision! I mean, you’ll see why when you start scrolling. They have this fantastic lobby which was perfect for photos. Shyla and Joe just rolled with it and were so relaxed and wonderfully happy that their wedding day was here. The rest of the day went perfectly and we still got to hit up some iconic Boston spots before heading back to the Omni Parker House for their reception!
I am so in love with this light! One of my favorite things about being a photographer is walking in to a difficult lighting situation and figuring out a solution. The Omni Parker has this gorgeous, old lobby and it is dark – dark wood, just lit by chandeliers and sconces. I love the feel of it, but it can be challenging to shoot there. But, in a matter of seconds I set up my light and started shooting to create beautiful photos like the ones here.
This was my second time at Our Lady of Good Voyage and it’s such a pretty small church in a great location!
Junebug Charlestown did an amazing job with these florals!
Shyla got this gorgeous dress from La Reine Bridal in Waltham
Is there any better spot in Boston for wedding photos than Fan Pier in the seaport?
Before heading in to cocktail hour, we quickly stopped at Old City Hall right across the street from the Omni Parker. It was absolutely flooded with tourists just a few hours earlier, but when we arrived there was no one there!
Omni Parker Boston Wedding
The Omni Parker House was founded in 1855 and if you’ve never been, just go for dinner one evening and take a walk through the hotel. SO much history has happened there!
I couldn’t be more in love with the ballroom at the Omni Parker House!
They had such a sweet first dance with their families looking on
Virtue Entertainment crushed it!
