I had been looking forward to Amanda and Justin’s Omni Parker wedding for a while. After their Boston College engagement session I knew their wedding would be amazing. They actually asked me to photograph their Banks Fish House welcome party as well the night before. I’ve been photographing a lot more welcome parties recently as the scale of them has increased quite a bit. It’s more common now to invite the entire wedding to a “night before” party and do your rehearsal maybe on a Thursday or earlier in the day. Anyway, back to the wedding day. I arrived to Amanda’s huge getting ready suite. I love when we have plenty of space for getting ready and we needed it because Amanda had a lot of bridesmaids 🙂
We did their first look across the street at Boston’s Old City Hall. There was a large tour group in front of the main building so we just carved out some space to the side and they had a beautiful moment. Then we all got on the trolley and headed over to the Public Garden. We found some great spots, even though it was a crowded summer Saturday. Back at the Omni Parker, we did a few more photos in the lobby before heading upstairs to the Press Room for the ceremony. To be honest this is a newbie photographer’s nightmare. It’s a super dark room with a mirror right behind the couple. BUT, if you know your lighting this is a beautiful, cozy, historic room with lots of charm. Everyone headed upstair for cocktails and then Groove Authority rocked the rest of the night! Nicole Greco did a great job with hair and Brittney Eileen was wonderful to work with for makeup.
