I’m excited to share my first Popponesset Inn wedding! The Inn is based at The Club at New Seabury. They have a ballroom option and the Poppy Tent option. We were in the tent for Emma and Brendan’s wedding day and I loved the space! It’s right on the beachfront and has a huge covered deck wheer the ceremony and reception took place. There’s also a dining room area with a huge bar where they had their cocktail hour.
Emma and Brendan rented houses just a few minutes from the Poppy. We walked from the house, over the Dean’s Pond bridge and to the beach. Their first look was really sweet. After a few portraits, their family and wedding party met us at the beach for some photos.
Back at the Popponesset, we set up for the ceremony. As a Cape Cod wedding photographer, I love the challenge of lighting a space so you can see the couple but also the gorgeous ocean backdrop. That’s really tough in a tent when the ocean is being hit by the sun and the scene is super backlit. You may have seen other wedding photos where the ocean is just a white mass. I think we nailed it though 🙂 This was fun during the reception and first dance as well, trying to balance the sunset with Emma and Brendan’s dance. I especially lovce the silhouette with the reflection of the bar at the bottom.
All in all, it was a perfect day and I really loved Emma and Brendan’s chill demeanor throughout. Though they went crazy on the dance floor, which was so fun to capture!
Popponesset Inn Wedding
They got an amazing sunset! In one direction, it was cotton candy, and the other direction was blue and orange! I love when my couples build in 10 minutes to go out and have some time to themselves.
