This Kimpton Marlowe summer wedding brought together bold style, waterfront energy, and the kind of Boston charm couples love.
Getting ready began inside the modern, artistic suites of Kimpton Marlowe Hotel. I love how natural light pours through oversized windows and the riverfront skyline sets the tone for the day. Hair by @hairbyshealin and makeup by @lizfullermua had everyone looking beautiful. Jayne and Stephen’s vibe was relaxed and fun, but elegant, perfect for a celebration in one of Cambridge’s most stylish boutique hotels.
Ceremony at St. Ignatius Catholic Church
St. Ignatius Catholic Church offered a classic and heartfelt setting for the ceremony. Surrounded by loved ones, the couple exchanged vows among soaring architecture, warm light, and meaningful family traditions. After the recessional, everyone gathered back at the alter for family photos.
Portraits Around Boston College
With BC being their old stomping grounds, the wedding party explored a few favorite spots for photos. Between the lawn, the steps, and tucked-away corners of campus, we found some great spots. These portraits always feel especially authentic because the locations are tied to real memories, not just scenery.
A Quick Stop at the Charles River
Before heading back to the hotel, the couple took a short break by the Charles River for more portraits. The riverwalk delivered clean, airy light and a beautiful contrast between nature and city. It’s one of those simple stops that adds variety to the gallery and gives couples a touch of Boston’s waterfront charm.
Courtyard Cocktail Hour by Celeste
After a fun limo ride, we arrived back at Marlowe for cocktail hour in the courtyard. The guests were greeted by Celeste, the hotel’s 25-foot sculpture. It’s impossible to walk in and not look up. Celeste instantly gives the space a creative, unforgettable atmosphere that pairs perfectly with signature cocktails, passed bites, and the buzz of everyone reconnecting.
A Kimpton Marlowe wedding shines in its small details because of the sculptural art, water views, and the intimate courtyard layout all make the celebrations feel elevated and unique. All in all, these touches also give couples natural spots for candid photos that feel artistic rather than staged.
Jayne went up to her room for a quick hair change before heading into cocktail hour.
Kimpton Marlowe Summer Wedding Reception in the Serrano Ballroom
Later in the evening, guests moved into the Serrano Ballroom, where the Marlowe team, led by Rachel, served a flavorful, beautifully presented meal. The ballroom’s warm tones, modern architectural lines, and clean palette made it easy to style the space with flowers by @florioflorals. The bride’s gown from @kellychasecouture photographed beautifully against the ballroom’s soft lighting.
Toasts, dance floor moments, and emotional reactions filled the night, captured on film by @hitchedcreative. Toward the end of the evening, guests enjoyed a sweet finish with a cake from @tiotcma, whose designs are as delicious as they are detailed.
After their first dance, we stepped outside for a few minutes to get some nighttime portraits and to give them some time to themselves to soak in the day together.
