The Definitive Guide to Top Boston Wedding Venues for 2026-2027

Choosing a Boston Wedding venue is about more than just guest count; it is about how the city’s character—from historic brownstones to glistening harbor views—serves as the backdrop for your story. Whether you want the sleek lines of a modern skyscraper or the storied halls of a historic landmark, these locations represent the very best of the city.

1. State Room: Sky-High Modern Sophistication

Sitting 33 stories high atop the Sixty State Street skyscraper, the State Room is an urban event space offering breathtaking 270-degree views of the harbor and city skyline. It is Longwood’s flagship venue and is widely considered the most stunning modern wedding venue in the entire city.

The Spaces:

  • The Great Room & Mezzanine: This massive 9,396-square-foot space features 21-foot ceilings and 120-foot-wide floor-to-ceiling windows. It can accommodate 1,200+ for flowing events, 900 for cocktail receptions, or 560 for a full dinner and dancing.

  • Harborside Salons: Alternatively, for more intimate gatherings, these salons offer 4,116 square feet of space with 9’8″ ceilings, providing panoramic views from 33 stories high for up to 300 guests.

Photographer’s Perspective: The 20-foot-tall windows are the focal point, making for dramatic shots of the skyline. However, once the sun sets, the glass can act as a mirror. You need a pro who knows how to use lighting to maintain the skyline view without unwanted flash reflections. The floating mahogany staircase is also a favorite for dramatic entrances.

2. Omni Parker House: Timeless Grandeur

As a historic landmark in the heart of downtown, the Omni Parker House has roots dating back to 1855. It is a timeless venue that has been thoughtfully restored to offer a “bygone era” feel with modern luxury.

The Spaces:

  • Rooftop Ballroom: Located exclusively on the 15th floor, this ballroom features a gracefully arched ceiling, crystal chandeliers, and spectacular panoramic views. It accommodates up to 250 guests for a plated dinner and dancing.

  • Wheatley Terrace: This adjoining outdoor space is ideal for a cocktail hour, allowing guests to take in fresh air and city views.

  • Press Room: For smaller events of up to 120 guests, this room features mahogany paneled walls for a stately, historic feel.

Photographer’s Perspective: The classic charm of the crystal chandeliers and mahogany walls provides a warm, elegant backdrop. Its location near the Boston Common and Freedom Trail also offers endless opportunities for classic Boston portraits just blocks away.

Boston Liberty Hotel Micro Wedding4. The Liberty Hotel: Historic Chic

This is one of the most unique Boston Wedding venues. Situated at the base of Beacon Hill, The Liberty Hotel is a National Historic Landmark that was originally the Charles Street Jail, built in 1851. It elegantly combines high-style luxury with “hometown warmth” and historic architecture.

The Spaces:

  • Liberty Ballroom: This 3,000-square-foot room features rich mahogany walls, dramatic chandeliers, and floor-to-ceiling windows for up to 180 guests.

  • Rotunda: The lobby’s 90-foot Rotunda and surrounding catwalks are iconic for cocktail receptions, allowing guests to admire the original jail structure.

Photographer’s Perspective: The blend of original granite masonry and modern design creates a unique, editorial aesthetic. The floor-to-ceiling windows in the guest rooms also offer some of the best natural light in the city for “getting ready” photos.

Millennium Bostonian Boston Wedding on the Juliet Balcony overlooking Faneuil Hall8. The Bostonian Boston: Historic Downtown Gem

Located across from Faneuil Hall, The Bostonian Boston is a boutique hotel that plans modern weddings with a historical touch. It’s one of my favorite Boston wedding venues.

The Spaces:

  • Seasons Ballroom: Regarded as one of the best wedding spaces in the region, it features bay windows and a glass ceiling. This allows for an abundance of natural light during the day. It comfortably seats up to 150 guests.

  • Location Highlights: Being in the heart of downtown, guests can explore Faneuil Hall Marketplace and the Old State House while being just minutes from the airport.
